This lovely piece of furniture is so versatile, it would be useful to many professions-doctor, dentist, lawyer or even a map maker.
It measures 6 ¼" tall, but to the top finial the total height is 7". It is 2 7/8" wide and 1 3/8" wide.
At the top of the cabinet are 4 corner posts, with railing and spindles around 3 sides. Below this is a drawer with an ornate front, which does open. Below this is a glass drop-front drawer, which, when opened has 3 shelves on either side of an open area, where letters and documents could be kept.
Below this is a double row of narrow drawers for a total of 8 drawers. A doctor could keep his instruments here, as could a a dentist. A lawyer could keep legal documents ready to be filled out.
Below the double drawers are 3 full width drawers, the bottom one having an ornate front to match the very first one.
Under the drawers are double glassed drawers, when opened, reveal two shelves, counting the bottom of the cabinet. All the knobs are brass.
