This unusual table is one in a collection of fine wood furnishings in walnut. The design work on the wood surrounding the case of the table is intricately carved, as are the long sleek cabriole legs.
The table stands 3 ¾" tall. The attached glass case, enclosed on all sides with glass is 1 ¾" wide and almost 1" deep and 3 ¾" across the front. Access to the inside is by sliding the top off. There is a bracket leading from each of the four legs culminating in a small plateau or shelf under the main display box.
The floor of the inside display area is covered in rich deep teal velvet. This would be a lovely way to show off a display or collection of treasures.
This is an absolutely exquisite piece of furniture! there's absolutely nothing "dollhouse" about it, you could easily find a piece like this in a museum. I have tiny little pieces of rocks and minerals that I've collected over the years and am so excited to be able to display some of them in the cabinet!

At first, I was perplexed on how to open it. The image online shows the long side pulling out, but with gentle pulls all around, it was the short side that pulled out.
