Candy Apple Class (Pg.1)

Lesson by Alex Zohar, Instruction by Carol Jones

Materials

Green Fimo #5
Yellow Fimo #1
White Fimo #0
Transparent Fimo #00
Liquid Fimo
Gloss Lacquer
Red Oil Paint
Brown Oil Paint
Cedar shingle shake
Small Cup
Silver Cookie Sheets

Razor blade or Xacto knife
Ruler

Step #1
Make sure your hands are washed and very clean before proceeding to mix fimo.  A small amount of fimo goes a long way so only use a small amount of the colours.
Mix the fimo colours:  1 part yellow, 1 part white, 1 part transparent, and a tiny amount of green.  Press these colours together and roll it in your hands until it is all one colour.

Step #2
On a clean surface, gently roll the colour until it forms a long roll approximately 1/4" in diameter.

Step #3
Cut the roll into 1/4" segments using a razor blade or an Xacto knife.

Step #4
Roll the individual segments into balls, then take each ball and roll it on one side to get a 'pear shape'.

Step #5
Gently press on the pear shape to flatten the bottom so that it has a base to sit on.

Step #6
With a razor blade, cut tiny slivers from a cedar shingle to make the candy apple sticks.

Step #7

Cut these sticks into 1/4" increments.

Step #8
Gently push a stick into the top of each apple.
