Each face starts as a small ballwith one flat side.
Make two small eye sockets. Push some clay up for the nose. Do not add clay, it creates moonies.
Make a nose bridge and push clay on the sides of the eyes to make the face less rounded.
Take a narrow tool (similar to the one I use in the previous picture) and make a mouth. Push some clay up for the upper lip, depress clay in the chin area to create a lower lip.
Push clay from the upper “eyelid”, make it prominent, just like real eye.
Feather the lines up around the eyes. Smooth any bumps you have.
Use medium to small stylus to indicate the lip line
Now that you have your basic face, you can create and enhance your own features.

Add a body and make a blanket. Roll a ball of clay and flatten it with your fingers to about the thickness of four sheets of paper.
Wrap the baby in the blanket.
Bake the finished baby. Paint the face, I use Genesis oils, but acrylics will do too. You can also decorate her blanket with a bow or flowers.
